The Slovenian Elite floorball league has a new Slovenian champion when for the first time in its history, Floorball Club Borovnica has won the championship with an incredible record of only one loss in the entire season including the play-offs.
In the finals, FBC Borovnica defeated the last years champions, FBK Insport Skofja Loka in two games (6-5 and 8-3), thus concluding the club´s most successful season so far. The team will participate in the upcoming EuroFloorball Cup qualifications where they want to prove their level of play in an international event.
The third place was won by FBK Insport Ziri, which beat the last year´s second placed team SD Zelenci.
During next season, two new teams that have this season played in the 1st Slovenian Floorball league, will be competing on the Elite level of Slovenian floorball. The directly qualified FBK Olimpija Ljubljana will be joined by FBK Insport Skofja Loka B that won Polycom Brlog, this year´s 5th placed in the Elite league, in two qualifiyng matches.
