In the end of January (28th – 29th) a two day Floorball seminar was organised in the Makati City University and Quezon City in the Philippines.

The IFF Referee Committee member, Mr. Klaus Koskela, instructed the educational seminar, which concentrated on coaching, administration as well as referee education.

On the first day in the Makati City University there were approximately 70-80 18-23 year old school students that participated in the seminar as well as some teachers and invited guests.

On the first day the focus was on coaching floorball and on basic Floorball techniques such as passing and receiving the ball in different drills.

– Jani Kukkola´s technique presented in the new Floorball Technique DVD received much appreciation and astonishment. The first day ended in a Floorball match and the joy of playing was clearly visible, Koskela told after the seminar.

Ten persons interested in establishing a national association participated during the second day. The session in Quezon City concentrated on the administrational part and on how to form and build up an organisation and on how to develop an action plan for the future. After the administration course a Floorball training session for 9-13 year olds was organised on a nearby basket court.

The plan for the future is to organise a four day IFF Development Program Seminar in the region in order to further support the development of Floorball.
