The Russian Men´s Championships have been played and the team Olimp from Fryazino are the 2009 Russian Champions.
There were nine teams fighting for the national championship title in the highest league and Olimp managed to win 14 out of 16 matches and gathered 43 points, four points more than the 2nd placed team, Nizhegorodets.
