Tapanilan Erä winning over Vitkovice

Tapanilan Erä played with aggressive and active fore checking in the match against Vitkovice, which paid off and SSK Vitkovice was not able to challenge the Finnish team, 6-1  was the final result to Erä.

Especially Jani Helenius and Tommi Aro, played brilliantly in the first period and took Erä to a safe 3-0 lead in the first period.

The first goal was a result of Helenius brilliant technical skills as he could dribble Vitkovice´s defence and pass the ball to Aro who put a one timer in the net. The other goal had the same actors in it, but now Aro shot a hard shot from the defenders position. The third goal was scored by Helenius.

Vitkovice had their moment in the start of the second period and Milan Tomasik scored the 1-3 goal. Then Lauri Kapanen again increased Erä´s lead after scoring two goals and Vitvkovice could not get back into the game.

Jaakko Rissanen and Patrik Suchánek were awarded as best players.

The Red Ants had an easy match against Målløs Hurricanes, which they won with clear numbers 6-0. Sina Casutt and Elisabeth Torp were elected as best players of the match.

 

Dietlikon and Rodovre took tight victories

The most intensive women´s match so far in the tournament was seen in the afternoon, when Czech Tigers SJM played against Swiss UHC Dietlikon.

Both teams played a fast and physical game which created good opportunities for scoring. The first period was even, Tigers scored the first goal but Dietlikon was able to tie the match before intermission with an accurate shot by Marion Rittmeyer.

In the second period Dietlikon started to play more organized attacks and with two long distance shots they were able to take a 3-1 lead. When Tigers were not able to reduce the lead during power play and after Sarah Schäffer´s  fourth goal for Dietlikon only 4 seconds before the second intermission it looked as the match was settled.

Kristina Jilkova still reduced the Dietlikon lead to only two goals in the third period. Tigers got a power play opportunity with only five minutes left in the game, but were not able to reduce the lead and Dietlikon won with 4-2.

Best players were Jilkova (1+0) and Rittmeyer (2+0).

 

Tight match between Rodovre FC and UHS Sparkasse Weissenfels

The Men´s match was also very exciting when the German team played against the Danes. Rodovre led with two goals three times in the match, 2-0, 3-1 and with 4-2 in 49.24, but Sparkasse could reduce the lead to one goal each time. Sparkasse was very effective on the power play, they scored all of their goals on power play.

The excitement in the match continued until the end, a few minutes before the end Rodovre had the lead 4-3 and Sparkasse tried to even the score without the goalkeeper. Mike Trolle in the Rodovre goal however kept his net clean with some important saves in the end and the decisive 5-3 goal for Rodovre was scored into the empty net.

Thomas Händler (2+0) and Trolle were awarded as the best players of the match.

 

SSV won their first match

Two Finnish teams played in the late match and both teams won their opponents with clear margins.

SSV defeated Lekrings with 6-0 and SC Classic crushed the home team Frederikshavn Bulldogs with 11-0.

Three goals were scored in the first period of the Men´s evening match and all by SSV Helsinki. The first after a nice long distance shot by Mikael Lax on power play and the next two goals were one timers scored by Mikael Järvi and Juho Järvinen after nice passing plays.

There were no goals scored in the 2nd period, but in the third period SSV increased their lead. After the fourth goal scored by Harri Forsten, SSV changed the line-ups and used fresh players. One of them was Sebastian Fager-Pintilä, who scored the sixth and last goal of the match on power play.

SC Classic crushed Bulldogs

The Danish men´s team Rodovre started the tournament with a victory, but the first day was not that pleasant for the Danish women´s team Frederikshavn Bulldogs. They met the Finnish team SC Classic in the first match and Classic was the far more effective team. The match was settled already in the first period, when Classic scored 5 goals. The final score of the match was 11-0 and the most effective players were Mira Juvonen with 3+0 and Maiju Hakulinen with 1+2.

Juvonen and Cecilia Di Nardo were elected as best players.
