Switzerland won the decisive and tight match against Finland in the Men´s 4-nations tournament in Latvia with 6-5. Finland and Switzerland met also in the Women´s Polish Open and Finland was the stronger team with 4-1.
In the Men´s tournament Switzerland had a 2-1 lead after the first period, but Tero Tiitu evened the score after 32 minutes of play. The goal was Tiitu´s 100 point in the Finnish national team (Tiitu collected 1+3 today).
Within one minute Florian Kuchen and Joel Krähenbühl took the Swiss to a 4-2 lead in the final period, but Harri Forsten and Heikki Hätönen could even the score to 4-4. Switzerland´s player of the game, Matthias Hofbauer, scored the Swiss to the lead again but Esa Jussila, who was awarded as Finland´s best player evened the score to 5-5 on power play. The decisive 6-5 goal was scored by Marc Dysli and after nine losses in a row against Finland, Switzerland won the Finns and the whole 4-nations tournament.
Norway and Latvia evened the score 5-5, but due to a better goal difference, Norway was placed 3rd and Latvia 4th in the tournament.
Finland won the Women´s Polish Open
Maiju Merikanto took Finland to a 1-0 lead and the lead increased already to 3-0 in the second period when Anna Yli-Kojola and Eliisa Alanko could get the ball behind Laura Tomatis, who was awarded as Switzerland´s best player. Andrea Benz could reduce the score to 1-3 in the third period, but Elina Kujala, who was elected Finland´s best player, settled the match to 4-1 in 51.07.
