The Red Ants Rychenberg Winterthur will play in the EFC Final round again after a break of three years. Team TJ JM Chodov was defeated with 7-2 in the last Women´s EFCQ top 4 match.

The last time the Red Ants played in the EFC was in the EC 2005-2006 when they took the bronze medal. Rychenberg Winterthur have played in all but one EC (2003-2004) from the season 1993-1994 to 2005-2006. In 2005 the team won the EC gold.

The first Red Ants goal was already scored in 01.04 after a nice shot by Daniela Stettler. The next two goals were scored by Andrea Hofstetter and the formation with Hofstetter, Julia Suter and Margrit Scheidegger as well as Silvana Nötzli and Andrea Auer in the defence continuously created good scoring chances in the 1st period through excellent passing play.

Chodov had trouble of getting the ball out of their own zone and the few times they succeeded, the fast Red Ants´ players could get the ball back quite easily.

The score was 4-0 in the second period before Petra Beránková scored Chodov´s first goal in this Qualification tournament.

The goal gave Chodov new fighting spirit and only one minute later Berankova could break free and score again. Suddenly the game was interesting. The Czech spurt did however not last long enough.

In the second period the quick Alexandra Frick played with Suter and Hofstetter and this formation worked brilliantly and before the end of the 2nd period Frick and Suter took the Red Ants to a safe looking four goal lead again.

The last goal of the match, the 7-2 goal, was a result of a nice long-distance shot by Nötzli, who collected 1+1 today. Petra Beránková (2+0) and Andrea Hofstetter (2+0) were elected as the best players.

The Red Ants Rychenberg will play in the group B with UHC Dietlikon, Tigers SJM and Målløs Hurricanes in the Women´s EuroFloorball Cup Final round played in Frederikshavn, Denmark from the 14th – 18th of October.
