Women´s EFC Qualification Top4 about to start
The Women´s EuroFloorball Cup Qualification for the second best teams from the Top 4 nations will start today in Winterthur, Switzerland.
The Women´s Top 4 Qualification is played with three teams: TJ JM Chodov from Czech Republic, PSS Porvoo from Finland and home team Red Ants Rychenberg Winterthur (SUI) from Switzerland. Only the winner will play in the EuroFloorball Cup Final round in Denmark in October. The tournament will start with an evening match when the Finnish Cup winner, PSS, will play against the home team Red Ants Rychenberg at 19.30 CET in the Arena Oberseen.
Both teams have bunch of top class players and the match will surely be exciting. The Red Ants have three players, Andrea Hofstetter, Michaela Kathriner & Daniela Stettler who have played for the Swiss women´s national team and also three players, Margrit Scheidegger, Julia Suter and Alexandra Frick, from the gold winning Under 19 Women´s team from 2008. The team is also completed with two German national team players, Sandra Dirksen and Katja Timmel as well as Kaisa Malmberg, who has played for the Finnish national team.
Also PSS have a strong roster with many Finnish national team players such as: Hanna-Kaisa Savolainen, Niina Valjakka, Paula Jouhten, Eija Pasanen, Anu Peltokangas and Petra Niemenmaa. Also the Czech national team player, Hanka Lacková and the Swiss player, Simone Ryser, are strengthening the Finnish club team.

Red Ants won the intense match in Women´s EFCQ top 4
The Red Ants Rychenberg won the exciting first Women´s EFC Q Top 4 game as they settled the match against PSS in the third period.
PSS Porvoo was slightly stronger in the first half of the match, but could not score more than one goal despite one penalty shot opportunity and two power plays.
The score was 1-1 when going into the third period, which was also due to some excellent saves by both goalkeepers. In the beginning of the third period Michaela Kathriner took the Red Ants to the lead for the first time, but the score was soon evened by Anu Peltokangas who could find the target with a long distance shot.
After this both teams had great scoring chances, but the goalies remained undefeated. In 53.25 Julia Suter pleased the cheering home crowd by scoring the 3-2 goal with a nice wrist shot. This also became the winning goal of the match. Michaela Kathriner scored her second of the night after brilliant passing play with Daniela Stettler and this goal really settled the match. The final numbers were 5-2 for the Red Ants when Sandra Dirksen scored the final goal of the match in 59.27.
Julia Suter and Paula Jouhten were elected as their teams´ best players.
The Red Ants now have a good chance of qualifying to the EFC Final round whereas PSS would need to win the Czech team TJ JM Chodov tomorrow and also the Red Ants to lose against Chodov on Sunday in order to have a chance to play in the Final round.

PSS winning easily over TJ JM Chodov
PSS crushed the Czech team in the second Women´s EFC Qualification top 4 match in Winterthur. The final numbers were 9-0 to PSS.
The first five minutes of the match were quite even, but when PSS they got their passing play going the opponent seemed to disappear on the field.
The first PSS goal was scored by Eija Pasanen, and when the PSS players continuously could get into the best scoring sector, the lead was increased to 4-0 during the first 20 minutes. The goals were scored by Janica Ignatius, Jessica Laidler and Heini Laitinen.
PSS increased their lead steadily throughout the match. Pasanen scored her second of the match in 29.17, the 6-0 goal, but the most effective players today were Paula Jouhten with 3+0 and Petra Niemenmaa with 0+3.
The decisive match between Red Ants and TJ JM Chodov will be played tomorrow at 13.00 CET. If the Red Ants win or play a tie, they are qualified to the EFC Final round otherwise the goal differences will decide the winner.
Janica Ignatius (PSS) and Anna Kulhankova (Chodov) were awarded as the best players.
