During the weekend 5th to 6th September 2009 the first international floorball tournament is going to be held in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Beside the host Floorball Club Gromovi (Lightnings) Banja Luka, other participants at the tournament will be Insport Skofja Loka (SLO), All star team Serbia (SRB) and club Tuzla 3:16 (B&H). One match will also be played between junior teams of Gromovi and Tuzla 3:16. The tournament will be organized according to IFF rules and matches will be played on a new certified 40 by 20 meters rink owned by Floorball Club Gromovi. Insport Skofja Loka will support the tournament by providing accredited referees from Slovenia.

The objective of the tournament is to raise awareness of floorball and it´s promotion in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Before the tournament, the team representatives will meet and discuss cooperation on regional level as well as the idea of creation of a regional Floorball Balkan league. This tournament might represent a starting point for the future regional floorball league and more successful regional cooperation.
