The Swedish player Karolina Widar has been elected the best Floorball player in the world for 2009 by the Swedish Floorball Magazine Innebandymagazinet. The election was made by national team coaches and media representatives from all over the world.
The nomination of the best player in the world is now done three times and this is already the second nomination for Karolina Widar. She won the prize also on 2007, while last year the prize was given to Swiss defender Simone Berner.
The Swedish center forward Widar produced 58 (23+35) points in 26 matches in Elitserien. In the Swedish national team she played 8 matches with 11 points.
