The Asian rivals Singapore and Japan met in the match for 15th place in Sparta Arena. Both teams have had time to rest before the match because the last group matches were played on Thursday.
The match started with very accurate playing as both teams concentrated to defence play. When half of the match was played Japan was however leading the game with 2-0.
The second half of the second period was strong for Singapore as they scored three times and took the lead 3-2. In the third period Japan got the chance to equalise the match when Singapore took two penalties.
Despite the good effort Japan did not succeed in scoring and the match ended with the result 4-2. Therefore Singapore is placed 15th in the WFC 2008.
The best player of Singapore was goalkeeper Arshad Sanusi Khalique and the best of Japan was defender Jan Kondo.
