Final teams in the EFCQ East
After 28 matches (16 men´s and 12 women´s matches) the EFCQ East has reached the finals.
In the women´s final Nizhny Novgorod (RUS) will take on Rubene (LAT). These teams, that had quite comfortable wins in the semifinals, played each other in the last EFC Final round (played in Finland 9-13.01.2008) in the match for 7th place – a match that Rubene won 9-2.
In the men´s final Szarotka Nowy Targ (POL), having defeated Nizhegorodets in extra time 5-4 in the semifinal will play versus Latvijas Avize (LAT) that defeated Bratislava 8-4 in their semifinal. The teams met each other in the group in a match were Latvijas Avize defeated Szarotka 6-4.

Results of the first day from EFCQ East
EuroFloorball Cup Qualifications started yesterday in Bratislava, Slovakia. There were four men´s matches and three women´s matches in two arenas.
Group B match between Hungarian Ares HC and Estonian TTU Team Exel started the men´s category in Arena FTVS. The Estonian team was stronger throughout the match and with three scored goals they won the match 3-1. The second match in group B was also a Baltic victory as Latvian Latvijas Avize defieted Polish Szarotka Nowy Targ with result 6-4.
Men´s group A was started with match where Austrian TVZ Wikings met Russian Nizhegorodets. The Russian team had a better start with the match as they scored four goals allready in first period. In the end Nizhegorodets took first win with result 7-3.
In women´s category group D had two very different matches. The first match was between Austrian SU Wiener and Polish Absolwent Siedlec. The Polish team was better from the beginning and they took an easy 13-5 victory. The second game between Russian Nizhny Novgorod and Slovakian Dragons Ruzinov was very tight. The Russian team scored three times in the first ten minutes, but then Dragons Ruzinov improved their game. In the second period Slovakians tied the match and in the third period Michaela Vrskova made the decisive goal and Dragons Ruzinov won 4-3.
Women´s group C started with the match between Hungarian Szolnok Cannibals and Estonian SK Saku Fortuna. The match was tight, but in the third period the Hungarian team took the lead 5-3. However, Saku Fortuna were not satisfied with this result and in the last minute Katrin Saare equalized the score to 5-5. Latvian team Rubene did not play on Wednesday because the Georgian team Colegi Batumi was not able to arrive to the tournament. Rubene will start their tournament on Thursday against Saku Fortuna.
