UHC Sparkasse Weissenfels had already two clear victories (15-2 and 11-3) against CFC Leipzig before the decisive game. The final game was watched by almost 1000 spectators.
The implementation of a champions and relegation round as well as combined play-offs of the second division east and west lead to a very pleasant raise of the number of spectators. Relegation games between teams from the premier and the second division and play-off games in the second division were continuously followed by 100-350 spectators. Weissenfels has had no problem to reach the finals in two semi final games (9-1, 17-4) against last year´s finalist Adelsberg Floor Fighters. In the other semi final CFC Leipig, who made it to the play-offs for the first time, had defeated the high favourite SSC Löwen Leipzig in three thrilling games 8-4, 4-11 and 6-5.
