A seminar for Russian-speaking Floorball referees was organised in Tanhuvaara sports base in Finland between the 28th to 30th of March.

The seminar was organised by the Finnish Floorball Federation (FFF), Open Floorball League in Russia in cooperation with the IFF. The FFF´s Referee instructors and IFF Referee Observers Mr. Lauri Oksanen and Mr. Sami Rahikainen lead the seminar, which was a part of an educational program for the Russian floorball community. The first seminar (for coaches) took place in the same base in November, 2007.

The seminar included general training with the following topics: interpretations of the game, rule tests, referee development and referee observation and personalised training using a friendly match and video analysis. The usage of the video during the friendly match was a good training tool and appreciated much by the participants. Analysing the video gave good opportunities for self-criticism and for giving personalised feedback and it also opened the way for fruitful discussions.

The course was very intense and the motivation of the participants was excellent during the whole weekend. It was also agreed that the cooperation is to be continued in the future.
