The IFF development seminar in Slovenia was organised in Zelezniki from the 28th of February to 2nd of March. All in all there were 37 participants from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey and the UK.

As there were also new floorball countries, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey, participating in the seminar, the organisational block included instructions on how to build up a new floorball association and how to become members of the international floorball family in the future. In addition the focus was on how to develop existing floorball associations and issues such as building up a license system and managing volunteers were considered to be some of the most interesting topics. The organisational block was headed by the IFF Vice President, Mr. Renato Orlando and the IFF General Secretary Mr. John Liljelund.

There were 10 participants in the referee block, which was lead by Mr. Klaus Koskela, member of the IFF Referee Committee. Since the need of international floorball referees is increasing it was a pleasure to see that new member associations do have potential referees to become international referees in IFF events in the near future.

The coaching block had the biggest number of participants, as 17 current and future floorball coaches participated. The coaches found the practical lessons and the game observing as well as the defensive tactics to be the most interesting themes during the seminar. The coaching block was headed by Mr. Mika Muukkonen and Mr. Liljelund.

The next IFF Floorball Development seminar will be organised in Laustrup, Germany, the 12th-15th of June. Read more from the Development Program webpage.
