The first coaching seminar for Russian-speaking coaches took place in the Tanhuvaara sports base near Savonlinna town in Finland on November24th and 25th.

The seminar was organised as a result of the cooperation between the Open Floorball League in Russia, the Finnish Sports Federation and the Finnish Floorball Federation.

The 20 Floorball coaches from Russia and Ukraine learned the real basics of the game and the training process, the team tactics and different practical exercises. After the seminar the participants followed the match between two teams that play in the Finnish Floorball League, NST and SPV.

All the participants were of the opinion that the seminar was very useful and included a lot of new knowledge about how to coach Floorball. The organisers from both sides have decided to continue to organiser educational seminars in the near future and the next seminar, this time for referees, is going to be held in the beginning of 2008 in the same place.
