The first Floorball event in Mexico was organized in the end of October in the city of Merida, East coast of Mexico.

The promotion event was organized by the initiative of a Floorball enthusiast originally from Hungary now living in Mexico, Oreszt Murgacs. The equipment used was provided by IFF and shipped to Mexico with the aid of another Floorball enthusiast, Adam Olofsson from Sweden, who also helped to manage the event.

According to Mr. Murgacs the event, a sport activity day for the school kids and their parents, was a success. A basketball court was used with no rink available but it did not seem to matter as the children could not be kept away from the court as they had get started.

Mr. Murgacs also managed to include the sport to the schools afternoon activities and is hoping to start the first club team in Mexico in the near future.
