Sweden-Czech Republic/Päivi VäänänenThe first period of the semi-final match started with very cautious playing when both teams avoided making any mistakes. In the end of the first period Switzerland took a penalty that resulted in a very good scoring chance for Sweden and then to a penalty shot for Sweden when a Swiss player was in the goalkeeper area. Hanna Lundström succeeded in the penalty shot and it was 1-0 to Sweden.

In the second period Sweden increased their lead to 2-1 after a goal scored by Karolina Widar. In 32.56 Sweden got a 2 minutes penalty. The penalty did not result in a goal but after 38.49 Switzerland got a free hit and Sara Schäfer scored a goal directly from Anna Bürgi´s pass. It was 2-1 to Sweden after the first period.

Switzerland had many chances in the third period and was pressing very hard, but did not score a goal. In 59.21 Camilla Nilsson settled the match by scoring the 3-1 goal for Sweden.
