Singapore-Finland/Picture: Päivi VäänänenFinland controlled the ball in the first period versus Latvia although Latvia also had some dangerous counter attacks. Petra Niemenmaa scored the first goal of the match when 10.34 was played.

In the second period Finland continued to control the game and after a foul pass by the Latvians in their own zone Jenni Morottaja shot the ball into the Latvian´s net. Morottaja also assisted the third goal for Finland scored by Petra Niemenmaa. The final score after the second period was 4-0 to Finland, the fourth goal scored by Kaisa Malmberg.

The fifth and final goal of the match was scored by one of the hard workers in the Finnish team, Elisa Piispa, in 47.48. Although Finland dominated the match, the Latvian team also deserves credit for their efforts. Latvia is one of the teams that has improved a lot during the last couple of years.
