Sweden World Schools´ champions

Sweden won the final match in both boys and girls category. Both finals were played against Finland and were very tight matches. Sweden managed to score one more goal than Finland in the finals and both matches ended 4-3 to Sweden.

Czech Republic won the bronze match against Russia 4-2 in the boys category. In the girls category the bronze went to Netherlands who defeated Slovakia 3-1 in the match for the 3rd place.

Final day in the World Schools´ Championships

Finland and Sweden are meeting in the World Schools´ Championships finals that are played today in Brno, Czech Republic, in both girls and boys categories.

In boys, Finland defeated Russia in the semifinals 9-1, and qualified to the finals. Sweden also qualified clearly to the finals by defeating the host, Czech Republic with 6-0. Therefore Russia and Czech Republic will fight for the bronze. The 5th place will go to either the other Czech team or Slovakia and the 7th place is settled between Germany and The Netherlands.

Girls played a double semifinal. Finland and Slovakia played two very tight matches. The first match ended with a tie 2-2 but in the second match Finland managed to score one more goal than the opponent and the final result was 2-1. In the other semifinal couple, Sweden and Netherlands, Sweden proved to earn the place in the finals by defeating Netherlands 9-2 and 6-0. Three teams, two teams from the Czech Republic and Hungary, are fighting for the 5th place.

ISF Floorball 2007

World Schools´ Championships 2007 under the aegis of the International School Sport Federation in co-operation with the International Floorball Federation have started in Brno in Czech Republic.

There are eight girls teams and ten boys teams with players borned 1990-1992 participating in the six day tournament. The finals are played wednesday the 9th of May. You can read more from the official webpage and follow the online results here.
