In the bronze match between Czech Republic and Switzerland, Switzerland took a confident grip of the match in the first period.
In 14:59 Regula Schori scored the first goal for Switzerland and less than two minutes later, Sonja Putzi increased Switzerland´s lead to 2-0. Especially in the passing play, Switzerland was one step ahead of the opponent.
In the second period the Czech team got their game going and the match got much more interesting. In 30:42 Olga Simackova, then scored the first goal for the Czech Republic. 1-2 was also the result after two periods of play.
The third period was even more thrilling than the second. First the Czech team scored an equaliser, but only one minute later Switzerland got into the lead again.
In 47:23 an own goal by Switzerland made the score 3-3 again. The decisive and final goal was scored by Switzerland´s Karin Stettler when there was less than 10 minutes left of the period. During the last minutes the Czech team still managed to hit the post, but they could not get closer than that and it was Switzerland who took the bronze medal.
