Today Floorball took yet another step in the international sports family, with the start of the closer cooperation together with FISU.

The new approach in FISU has been to start building collaboration agreements with International Sport Federations, with for example basket ball, wrestling and now it has become time for Floorball. During the WUC in Switzerland the IFF and the International University Sports Federation (FISU) signed a collaboration convention concerning the continued cooperation between IFF and FISU in the fields of University Sports.

The objective for the FISU to sign such agreements with the International Sport Federations is merely to build a strong co-operation between the International Federations and the University Sports, in order to spread the sport and make the University Sport stronger. The aim is to work together and strengthen the operations and also increase the promotion, marketing and PR of Floorball as a part of the University sports family says Mr. Sinisa Jasnic, FISU Executive Committee member responsible for the World University Championship.

The IFF President Mr. Tomas Eriksson warmly welcomed the signing of the collaboration convention, giving Floorball a better position in the FISU and giving hope for Floorball in the future to become a sport on the programme of the Universiade.  Mr. Eriksson agreed with Mr. Jasnic, that this is a milestone for Floorball and welcomed the operational principles of the cooperation, where FISU and IFF are to work together in organising and planning the University Championships for Floorball.

The next World University Floorball Championships will be played in Finland in 2008
