Men´s World University Championships are held in Berne, Switzerland, starting the 9th of November. The final is played the 12th of November. The tournament is organised under the aegis of FISU, the International University Sport Federation.This is the second time the students are fighting for the title of the world´s university champion. The first tournament was played in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2002, where Finland took over the student world by defeating Sweden in the final. Switzerland came third by winning over Hungary in the bronze match. The results from the last tournament can be read from here.

Eight teams are fighting for the medals, including Switzerland, Sweden, Japan, Slovakia, Finland, Czeck Republic, Hungary and Austria. As the teams consist mostly of each contry´s top players from the national leagues, the spectators are expected to see a tournament of high class and entertaining matches.
