Infront Nordic Ab, a subsidiary of Infront Sports & Media AG, has signed a contract with IFF for the co-operation of IFF rights until the end of 2010. During this period there will be men’s World Championships in Prague in 2008 and in Helsinki in 2010. Women will play their World Championship –tournament in Denmark in 2007 and in Sweden in 2009.

Infront Sports & Media AG is one of the leading sports marketing agencies in the world. Infront Sports & Media AG owns media and/or marketing rights to many global sports as FIFA, FIS, IIHF and EHF. Five out of seven federations representing winter Olympic sports are co-operated by Infront. “The grown interest of  floorball has lead to a situation, where Infront decided to take over the marketing rights of IFF”, says Eigil Rian, the sales Director for Infront Nordic and continues: “There are many companies in the Nordic market who seek for new sports with growing interest among young generation”.

The aim of the co-operation is to get the expertise of Infront to give IFF the know-how and resources to meet the challenges for floorball when entering to new markets as China. “Infront has an office in 9 countries and f.ex. there were representatives from China in Globen World Championships in May to start the floorball also in their country. There is huge potential with floorball in the coming years in Asia and many European markets and Infront wants to be supporting floorball in the growth challenges”, says Rian.

“IFF is extremely satisfied with the new contract”, indicates Mr. Per Jansson, the Chairman of the Swedish Floorball Association and responsible for marketing in IFF.  “This is a long co-operation, which gives the results in a long run”, he continues and points out that “floorball needs to grow also in the future to be competitive as the other successful sports”.
